📌 Quick Answer — Summative Test 2

Summative Test 2 is the second summative test of the term. For Term 1 of SY 2026–2027 it covers the competencies taught in Weeks 4–6, right after Summative Test 1 (Weeks 1–3) and before the Term Examination. Under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026 it must be built from a Table of Specifications (TOS), come with an answer key, and assess only what was actually taught. Item count follows the Key Stage: ~10 (KS1), 15 (KS2), 20 (KS3), 30 (KS4).

How Many Items for Summative Test 2?

Summative Test 2 uses the same item cap as Summative Test 1 for the grade level, because DO 015, s. 2026 sets the cap by Key Stage — not by which summative test it is. Each Summative Test must not exceed one-half of the corresponding Term Examination.

🎯 Item Cap by Key Stage

Key Stage 1 (Grades 1–3): up to 10 items · Key Stage 2 (Grades 4–6): up to 15 items · Key Stage 3 (Grades 7–10): up to 20 items · Key Stage 4 (Grades 11–12): up to 30 items.

How to Make Summative Test 2 (Term 1, Weeks 4–6)

1

List the Week 4–6 competencies

Pull the Most Essential Learning Competencies actually taught in Weeks 4–6 from your Budget of Work. Do not re-test Weeks 1–3 — those belong to Summative Test 1.

2

Build the Table of Specifications

Distribute your items across the Week 4–6 competencies by teaching time and cognitive level. The TOS is required under DO 015, s. 2026.

3

Write items + answer key

Match each item to a TOS row. Keep language clear and grade-appropriate, and prepare the answer key for fast, consistent checking.

4

Review, print, and record

Proofread, print, administer, then record scores under the Examinations component. Keep the test, TOS, and item analysis on file for the school year.
